Short route by the river Matachel to observe typical forest and river birds.

Here we are dealing with a riverbank habitat which is very well conserved with a great variety of trees and shrubs which serve as shelter and en excellent food source for a multitude of small birds. In the river we can find ducks, storks, herons and Kingfishers and on the riverbank we can find signs of small mammals and if we are very lucky we might see otter, genet or mongoose tracks. In the olive trees we might hear, and if very lucky, see Little Owl.

Birds that we can see:

Purple Heron, Little Egret, Little Owl, Lesser Woodpecker, Alpine Swift, Golden Oriole, Melodious Warbler, Sardinian Warbler, Azure-winged Magpie, Red Avadavat, Common Waxbill, Spanish Sparrow, Woodchat and Iberian Shrikes, Hawfinch…
